We're in the midst of our third blizzard since arriving in Resolute. Taiga and Naoko are keeping cozy inside.

I hope things are warmer for all of you down south. Just think, spring is just around the corner.

Resolute continued

Blizzard redeveloping late this afternoon.

This is a warning that blizzard conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

An intense low pressure center currently near Cape Dorset is forecast to track towards the Boothia Peninsula tonight and remain in place into Thursday. Strong easterly winds north of the low will move into the High Arctic late this afternoon and this evening.

Combined with falling snow, strong winds gusting to 90 km/h will produce blizzard conditions in Resolute tonight and Thursday. As well, falling temperatures on Thursday will produce extreme wind chill values below minus 55.

In Grise Fiord gusty northeasterly winds to 90 km/h are expected to redevelop this evening.
